THE STORY
The dunk was banned in college basketball from 1967-76. Upon the dunks return, Darrell Griffith became the first player to take full advantage of his ability to jam and he led the Louisville Cardinals to the 1980 championship and his high flying dunks led to a new nickname for the Cards, Doctors of Dunk.
